FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
A: Simply pick up an enrolment from from the school secretary, or download one from our website. Fill out the form and then post it to us. We will register your child, schedule the lesson times and then send you an invoice with all the relevant information. Your child can start lessons as soon as you've received the schedule information.
A: Classes consist of a weekly group of no more than 4 students to a 30-minute group. Terms vary from 10 to 14 weeks, depending on the school, and the time of year.
A: Currently lesson prices start from £7.50 per lesson (Wenthworth Primary School is £8.00 per lesson). As an added bonus, all new students pay 25p less per lesson from their first invoice, to help towards their larger bill (books, metronome, etc., is a one time payment). The Musicality Guitar School Books are £16.00 each, and the "talkie" metronome is £29.99. It's not compulsory to purchase the metronome, but it is encouraged as it has been proven that students who study with a metronome are much more likely to succeed than those who don't.
A: Fees are required to be paid termly, and in advance. Invoices will be sent out before the beginning of each term, and should be paid within fourteen days. Failure to pay fees by their due date will lead to lessons being automatically frozen, and will include a late charge of 10% of the invoiced amount, in addition to the invoiced amount. Parents finding the payment date difficult are to inform Musicality immediately to avoid charge. Refunds are not given for lessons missed without reasonable cause/notice. It should be noted that it is not the responsibility of Musicality, or their tutors, to locate students who fail to attend their lessons, as it compromises the duration of the lesson, and is unfair to the rest of the class.
Q: What is the ''Dual Student Discount'' on my invoice? Can I get a discount for encouraging my child's friend to join Guitar lesson too? A: If you enrol two or more of your own children to our classes, we shall thank you by automatically giving you a 15% discount from each consecutive student’s invoice (2nd, 3rd, 4th student etc.,) every term! That’s not all, for each non-family-member who attends your child's school that you recommend to our Guitar lessons, we will give you a further one-off 10% discount from your next consecutive invoice. Get 6 or more to join at the beginning of the same term, and your next invoice will say £0.00! All you need to do is write your child’s name somewhere on the new student’s enrolment form stating you referred them, and when we receive it, we’ll know it’s you!
A: At Musicality, we do our best to help our customers in any way we can. We understand that money does not grow on trees, and a sudden invoice of £120 or over can be quite a shock, and also a strain. That is why we have introduced a new policy to help you out. If your invoice is of £120 or over, we have taken the liberty of splitting this into two manageable halves for you. You will need to send in two cheques, rather than one, but the second needs to be post dated to the second date mentioned on the invoice. We will not attempt to cash the second cheque until its due date.
A: Lessons missed due to late payments will not be discounted. If late payments become a regular occurrence, you will be invoiced for a deposit towards the next term in additional to the current. Remember, you must contact us if you have problems with payments as ignored letters and invoices will lead to county court action. If for any reason, your child’s tutor cannot make the lesson, the missed lesson will be rescheduled for another day and you will be informed of the date prior to the lesson. In the unlikely event of there not being an available date prior to the end of term for this lesson to be replaced, it will be discounted from your next invoice automatically.
A: When you enrol for Guitar lessons, you are allocated a day and time in which lessons will occur. Under a contractual agreement, you have basically hired one of our Tutors for that allocated time until it expires. Money from Guitar lessons pays for that tutors salary, and he/she earns the same wage regardless of how many students he/she teaches. So should you decide to cancel, we would have to find a replacement to fill the slot that was allocated to you. This is why we have the calendar month cancellation period. A calendar month is enough time for us to find and replace the cancelled student. The cancellation fee is the equivalent to the sum of a calendar month lessons.
A: As per the terms of the enrolment form, a calendar month of notice must be given in writing before cancellation of lessons, and only before the start of a term, to be sent to the Musicality address on the invoice you received. If a calendar month’s notice has not been given before the start of a term, then you will be invoiced with a cancellation fee. If you cancel 4 weeks before the end of a term, you will not need to pay a cancellation fee, as the remainder of the invoice you paid will cover this. If you cancel early in the term, and had paid for a complete term (i.e. paid for 12 weeks, but want to cancel after 2 weeks), you will be refunded minus the amount of lessons already received, and the calendar month’s cancellation period. If you withdraw your child from Guitar lessons without giving prior notice in writing, you will be invoiced for the subsequent term and liable for it’s payment. Once a cancellation letter is received subsequent to the next consecutive term’s invoice, your child’s lessons will only be cancelled from the date we have received it. From that point, you will be liable for the cancellation fee, plus invoiced dates up to our receipt of your cancellation letter, and any late fees if incurred. Any outstanding balance after these amounts will be refunded to you, if your account is up to date. Please note that if your child does not come to lessons during the invoiced period, and without prior notice in writing, this will not void your obligation to pay for those lessons.
